Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need to be a graduate of the Catechetical Institute to attend?

The quick answer is "no" and the more detailed answer is: If you have gone through the CI Pillars program and ever asked, "What next?"—this experience is for you. If you have not gone through the CI but are interested in taking your faith to the next level—this experience is for you. If you want to truly walk with Christ—this experience is for you! (Participants must be 18 years of age or older.)

2. Is this just a lecture series?

The quick answer is "no" and the more detailed answer is: It is so much more! It is a life-changing experience that begins with seven weekly one-hour teachings by Jeff Cavins followed by time with Jesus in adoration. After the seven lessons, we begin a 40-Day Discipleship Challenge where we put into practice the disciplines of a disciple. Students receive a 40-Day Discipleship Challenge journal that guides them through each day, along with encouraging videos from Jeff every other day. After the 40-Day Discipleship Challenge, we gather together for an interactive Activated Discipleship Seminar.

3. Is there homework?

The quick answer is .... well... "kind of." Throughout the seven-week course, we will be striving each day to be disciples of Jesus. So, while this may take some work, it is our hope that we don't just confine it to our homes, but share Jesus everywhere we go.

4. If I miss a teaching, will I be able to watch it later?

Yes. The lessons will be recorded and availble on a password protected platform. Students will receive information on how access missed lessons on the first night and via email.

5. When and where is the CI: School of Discipleship being held?

The quick answer is seven Thursday evenings from Apr. 4 to May 16, 2024 (7 PM - 9 PM) at St. Joseph the Worker, Maple grove.

Following the seven Thursday lessons, students will embark a 40-Day Discipeship Challenge during which they will receive a 40-Day Challenge journal and receive inspirational videos from Jeff throughout the week. The tentative date of July 13 has been set for a follow-up seminar to be inspired and to share our experience.
